چکیده
We present a new calculation of the astronaut dose rate from galactic cosmic rays in free space at 1 AU. use unshielded isotropic fluence-to-dose conversion coefficients given International Commission on Radiological Protection publication 123. A 3D and time-dependent solar modulation model based Parker's transport equation as originally developed Song et al. (2021, https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4365/ac281c) is used to calculate ray spectra This uses recent local interstellar Corti (2019, https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/aafac4), M. J. Boschini (2020, https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4365/aba901, 2021a, https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/abf11c) reproduce PAMELA AMS-02 observations between 2006 2019. The radiation calculated our same rigidity region agrees better than 1% for proton helium way, 2% level six most contributing elements averaged over 7 or 8.5 years. analysis 13 years shows an effective equivalent 55–58 cSv/yr minimum (January 2010) 26 maximum (February 2014).

Galactic cosmic ray-induced radiation dose on terrestrial exoplanets.
This past decade has seen tremendous advancements in the study of extrasolar planets. Observations are now made with increasing sophistication from both ground- and space-based instruments, and exoplanets are characterized with increasing precision. There is a class of particularly interesting exoplanets that reside in the habitable zone, which is defined as the area around a star where the pla...
متن کاملNew constraints on Galactic cosmic - ray propagation
An extensive program for the calculation of galactic cosmic-ray propagation has been developed. Primary and secondary nucleons, primary and secondary electrons, secondary positrons and antiprotons are included. Fragmentation and energy losses are computed using realistic distributions for the interstellar gas and radiation fields. Models with diffusion and convection only do not account natural...
متن کاملDiffuse Galactic Continuum Gamma Rays. a Model Compatible with Egret Data and Cosmic-ray Measurements
We present a study of the compatibility of some current models of the diffuse Galactic continuum γrays with EGRET data. A set of regions sampling the whole sky is chosen to provide a comprehensive range of tests. The range of EGRET data used is extended to 100 GeV. The models are computed with our GALPROP cosmic-ray propagation and gamma-ray production code. We confirm that the “conventional mo...

Using the Langley Research Center galactic cosmic ray (GCR) transport computer code (HZETRN) and the computerized anatomical man (CAM) model, crew radiation levels inside manned spacecraft on interplanetary missions are estimated. These radiation-level estimates include particle fluxes, LET (linear energy transfer) spectra, absorbed dose, and dose equivalent within various organs of interest i...
متن کاملProbing the Galactic cosmic ray flux with submillimeter and gamma ray data
The study of Galactic diffuse γ radiation combined with the knowledge of the distribution of the molecular hydrogen in the Galaxy offers a unique tool to probe the cosmic ray flux in the Galaxy. A methodology to study the level of the cosmic ray "sea" and to unveil target-accelerator systems in the Galaxy, which makes use of the data from the high resolution survey of the Galactic molecular clo...
